The jury’s motivation: The autumn of 2008 lent fuel to the worn out but persistent media debate concerning high culture versus popular culture. At the same time, the humor collective, Klungan, opened the new hybrid performance they created with choreographer Birgitta Egerbladh. The result was a fistful of strange ruminations in monologue form about that dry and creaking loneliness. It has the esthetics of a marionette show and actors whose odd and angular walks lure the audience to laugh themselves into a variety of realizations. This is the way even humor becomes culture.

Those absurd humorists are back again, and with heart and brain intact! Five years after their start, Klungan presents, Det är vi son är hemgiften, together with choreographer Birgitta Egerbladh. These wounded anti-heroes and bitter losers represent the state of being of the Swedish man and of society in general, at time in history when no one is completely capable of living up to our demands of perfection and happiness.
